Martin Luther at Worms | Here I Stand (Stained Glass Print)
This stained-glass artwork, titled Martin Luther at Worms, portrays the pivotal moment of the Lutheran Reformation when Dr. Martin Luther stood before the Holy Roman Emperor in 1521 and refused to recant his writings. In this depiction, Luther holds the Scriptures close, a visual reminder of his famous confession: “My conscience is captive to the Word of God.”
Surrounded by radiant panels of red, gold, blue, and green, this window embodies the courage of faith that stands firm upon Scripture alone. Luther’s stance at Worms marked a turning point for the Church and the world—a declaration that God’s Word cannot be silenced.
